Sharpening Stone

ITEM DESCRIPTION:

Being offered for sale is the antique 16" diameter SHARPENING STONE WHEEL (salvaged parts/piece - WILL NOT function as intended with these parts alone - pretty much goes without saying but we're saying anyway) with Original CAST IRON WHEEL & CRANK-KNOB/HARDWARE by unknown maker (no identifiable maker's mark(s)), from circa the late 19th or early 20th century (best guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!

CONDITION NOTES:

Good/Very Good antique condition with minor -to- moderate wear (a few chips/chunks of stone missing along inner edge/rim - outer edge/rim is nice & smooth) but we see NO major breaks or repairs. Cast iron wheel has a fair amount of rust and pitting throughout but again, we see NO breaks or repairs. With addition of a stand & foot petal/cranking system, it would be a fully functional sharpening tool. As it is, it would make for a an excellent rustic decor and/or steampunk and/or altered art and/or conversation piece. See pics.

DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:

Stone measures 16" diameter x 2-5/8" thick. Cast iron wheel is 17-1/2" diameter x 1" thick, with an approx. 3/8" groove. Overall depth is approx. 16" (crank knob -to- bolt sticking out from wheel).

Total weight is 54 lbs. 11.5 oz..
