Antique YARN WINDER Primitive & Crude STRING SPINNER Oak WOOD NAILS Decor c.19th

1 In stock

Yarn Spinner

Being offered for sale is the antique, primitive & crude WOODEN YARN SPINNER by unknown maker (no visible maker's mark(s) - possibly/likely homemade) from circa the mid -to- late 19th century (best guess...possibly much older), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned and as a DISPLAY/COLLECTOR'S PIECE ONLY. May require modification and/or a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!

Good antique condition but is VERY crude and fragile by nature of construction & materials (peg joints with mostly wooden dowel nails and just a few steel/iron nails that have no nail heads (they are more like spikes than nails)). It is wobbly, with loose joints but for the purposes of gently spinning lightweight yarn, it seems like it could be structurally strong enough BUT we are NOT yarn spinning experts and can not guarantee this. We are selling it as a display/collector's piece only. The spinning part is removable (see last pic) and tends to fall out when spinning too aggressively (if the vertical supports splay-out too much, it falls out). Crank handle looks like it might be missing a piece but we are not sure about this. No visible maker's mark(s) or signature(s). Superb patina throughout. See pics.

Measures approx. 22" wide, overall x 17" deep (at base) x 22-3/4" tall, at tallest. Weighs 6 lbs. 10.5 oz..
